A Few FAQs

Can I get a new Home Hex?

Sure, if you can wrest it from another player.  You have to reduce the total number of defenders to less than 20HD first.  Then you have to get your Warlord and his retinue to that village.  'Ome is where da Boss 'angs 'is axe, after all.

When you spawn new orcs, they will spawn in the last hex visited by your Warlord.  In other words, you cannot have two home hexes, and thus divide your spawned reinforcements.  And if you want them to spawn in the new home hex, you have to get your Warlord there first.

Can I leave my home hex undefended?

No.  You must have at least one leader and 20HD worth of defenders in your home hex.  Per the Rules, any less than 20HD worth of defenders means a total loss.  The surviving leader must be either a Warlord or a subchief.  If you are down to just one such leader, you can appoint your shaman as a leader, but this is the only instance in which shamans can become leaders.

Can I camp inside the Malturrim hex to take advantage of the Peace of the Dread Lord?

Yes. You can even linger on the Dread Lord's doorstep while waiting for a second caravan to arrive, thus spawning all your reinforcements on the same day.  Not sure why you would want to, but you could.  Bear in mind, the Dread Lord wants to see some initiative out there.  If you order your forces to hang out for too long, he may send out a herald and a few of his personal guards to help motivate your force to show a little team spirit and get back on the field of play.
